As i have tried my hand at various moving image disciplines since being on the course i think it makes sense to produce a film of sorts for the FMP. It gives me the opportunity to try and draw together some of the things ive learned across camera operation, editing, motion graphics, and digital animation. My limited knowledge of After Effects is one thing i am particularly keen to address. After spending the best part of 4-5 months trying to get somewhere with it across two projects last year it would be good to finish something to a half decent standard.
The relationship between moving-image media and music i have found particularly resonant in this sense. My more successful projects have always involved music, so it would be foolish not to utilize this.
Probably the most important part of my learning curve throughout college is that doing things for the love and enjoyment often breeds the most successful outcomes. I would prefer to make something for a producer/dj/band/etc, as from past experience i tend to organise my time properly and work much harder, however it is equally important that i actually like their music and can engage with it. For this reason i wont be getting to caught up in a quest to find a client, but if something comes up then great.
